Efficient feed handling with bale choppers from Serigstad – Reduced feed waste, Improved Animal Welfare, and Increased Profitability

A bale chopper from Serigstad helps automate heavy and time-consuming tasks in the barn. The machine cuts and distributes roughage, especially round bales, in a way that reduces feed waste, increases intake, and improves animal welfare. The result is more efficient operation and greater profitability for the farmer.

Serigstad offers several models – FlexiFeeder, ExactFeeder II with magazine, and WheelFeeder – allowing you to choose a solution that fits your farm’s size, management system, and level of automation. In addition, the Phoenix MultiCutter loading wagon is designed for harvesting with high feed quality.

FlexiFeeder Bale Chopper

FlexiFeeder is a well-proven manual model that has been in production for over 35 years. It comes with a painted surface, central lubrication, and telescopic legs as standard. The machine cuts efficiently with 20 double knives and can be equipped with up to 60 knives depending on the feed type. The knives can be adapted to everything from dry hay to wet silage and straw.

FlexiFeeder is available in standard, extended, and straw versions, with options for an integrated feed table and side doors.

  • Maximum bale diameter: 1.60 m
  • Maximum bale weight: approx. 1,200 kg
  • Cutting rotor speed: approx. 380 rpm
  • Available for both 230 V and 400 V

ExactFeeder II Bale Chopper with Magazine

ExactFeeder II is a fully automated solution designed for integration into feeding systems. It features a magazine, load cells, PLC control, and internet connectivity. The model provides consistent output and allows grouping by weight. Photo sensors ensure automatic refilling when the chamber is nearly empty.

  • Can be equipped with up to 60 knives, reinforced drums, and toothed drums
  • Multiple feed table lengths: from 2.60 m to 3.88 m, with modular extensions
  • Technical data (short feed table): length approx. 4.99 m, width 1.77 m, height 1.79 m, weight approx. 1,300 kg

WheelFeeder Bale Chopper

WheelFeeder combines the cutting capacity of the FlexiFeeder with wheel drive for mobile use. This provides flexibility to distribute feed to various feeding areas, both indoors and outdoors, even in barns with low ceilings.

The machine is operated via a control rod and its own panel. Technical specifications are largely the same as for FlexiFeeder, but with the addition of wheel drive powered by separate electric motors.

Phoenix Multicutter

Phoenix combines mowing and cutting in a single process, preserving the nutritional content of the grass as effectively as possible. The wagon is designed for single-person operation, reducing operating time and fuel consumption.

  • Large wheels (710/45/22.5) that protect the soil
  • Robust, simple drivetrain
  • Up to 30% better packing density compared to other machines
  • Reduces feed loss and ensures better preservation

Why choose a bale chopper from Serigstad?

  • Reduced feed waste – improved cutting and even distribution for optimal resource use.
  • Time savings – automates heavy, time-consuming work.
  • Tailored to your needs – from simple manual models to fully automated, high-capacity systems.
  • Reliability and long lifespan – Serigstad has delivered specialized machines for decades, offering both spare parts and service.

Use and Maintenance

The knives are crucial for capacity and precision. As they wear down, cutting quality decreases and time per bale increases. Serigstad provides a knife template that shows when the knife set should be replaced. When cutting straw or frozen material, additional drive power or welded teeth may be required.

The machines can be adapted and upgraded with side doors, feed tables, or electric trolleys for rail use.

More Than a Machine – an Investment in Everyday Farming

Serigstad round bale cutters give farmers better control of roughage, improved animal welfare, and more efficient operation. Less manual labor means more time for other tasks and a more profitable farm.
